Company to Offer New Services to Entertainment, Gaming, and Media Properties
Beverly Hills, CA, April 28, 2014 – Rights acquisition and development company Diversion3 Entertainment, LLC has acquired certain assets of leading transmedia services provider DJ2 Entertainment, including rights to more than a dozen original and optioned intellectual properties. The announcement was made today by Steve B. Harris, CEO, Diversion3 Entertainment.
DJ2’s client services division, which includes helping creators and rights holders adapt intellectual properties as films, episodic series, video games, and graphic novels, will now be folded into Diversion3.
“This acquisition gives Diversion3 new capabilities to provide our existing clients as well as our original in-house properties with the same integrated marketing and adaptive services that DJ2 has become synonymous with since its launch in 2011,” said Harris. “DJ2 has successfully created and developed synergistic properties that span graphic novels, video games, and filmed entertainment and we look forward to applying those talents to our current and future projects.”
Diversion3 is currently working on properties that include the recently announced FRIDAY THE 13TH television series, a reboot of the horror/action film DOG SOLDIERS, and the classic science-fiction film LIFEFORCE, based on the novel THE SPACE VAMPIRES by Colin Wilson.
“DJ2 has always prided ourselves on providing creators and rights holders with a turnkey operation to enhance their IPs and bring them to new markets,” explained DJ2 CEO Dmitri Johnson. “With our combined reach, Diversion3 is well-positioned in the growing category of transmedia content creation.”
“DJ2’s mission was to deliver integrated content solutions to creators and brand owners,” said Dan Jevons, Chief Creative Director of DJ2. “By joining forces with Diversion3 we now have new tools to help realize those goals. Our creative partners can now work with us to extend their projects into filmed entertainment, gaming, publishing, mobile and desktop applications, and other complementary formats.”
Diversion3 Entertainment was launched in March, 2014 by Harris to consolidate existing entertainment, technology, and media companies. Among these are Ringleader Studios, Inc., a private company founded in 2005 by Harris to acquire and develop IP rights, including the aforementioned DOG SOLDIERS and LIFEFORCE, as well as AMITYVILLE sssand others. It also includes digital marketing and technology company ScreenPaper Media, LLC, launched in 2010 to produce digital content and applications for third-parties in the entertainment, gaming, and retail space.
“Collectively, the team which comprises Diversion3 has extensive experience in leveraging transmedia content to adapt characters and worlds in a way that enhances each property,” added Harris. “Diversion3 will build upon this by developing new and compelling stories that reach across multiple formats regardless of whether they first entered the public’s consciousness as films, television, video games, graphic novels, toys or other ancillary formats.”
The exact terms of the transaction are remaining confidential. Diversion3 Entertainment is based in Beverly Hills, CA.
